Business Analysis

The Business Analyst focuses on identifying the changes to an organization that are required for it to achieve its strategic goals. These changes include changes to strategies, structures, policies, processes, and information systems. Simply put, the Business Analyst is responsible for knowing what the goal of an IT project is, how to achieve it, managing any changes to the goal and ensuring that all deliverables are aligned with the goal.

  • Is your business facing some pain and you want to alleviate the stress caused by that pain?
  • Do you have a business mission and vision set?
  • Do you have a clear definition of what your business needs are?
  • Do you know all the questions but can't determine the right solution?
  • Do you think it’s difficult to bridge the gap between Business and IT divisions?

A 'Business Analyst' works with you to answer these questions.

Because of the ability to think through the business processes in one’s head, the client often finds it hard to articulate the problem in a way that programmers can understand. The client is often too close to the problem; you've heard the phrase "can't see the forest through the trees". This makes it difficult to document, with sufficient detail, what needs to be done. Furthermore, the client typically has not been trained in business analysis and may not know where to even begin. For this reason it's critical to bring in an experienced Business Analyst.

How is the business analyst going to be your guide?

The Business Analyst will identify the business problem, come up with a possible solution along with its potential benefits to the organization. The Business Analyst will clearly define the requirements in detail. They will provide clear and lucid documentation that can be shared with all of the project stakeholders to solicit their input. When the solution is being developed, the Business Analyst attends daily internal meetings becoming the eyes and ears of the business, constantly looking for deviations in course that would otherwise go undetected. Once the solution is implemented, the Business Analyst ensures that the client actually sees the benefits envisioned in the business requirements. The Business Analyst may assist in training the end user on the implemented solution and also support with Job Aids and other training documentation.
